Credit Rating Bodies

Credit Rating is the process of allocating an SCQF Level and  SCQF Credit Points to a qualification or learning programme. SCQF credit rating can only be carried out by SCQF Credit Rating Bodies. These are:

• Scotland's colleges
• Scottish Higher Education Institutions
• Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)
• Other organisations approved by the SCQF Partnership (at March 2010)
• Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland
• City & Guilds
• Institute of Leadership and Management
• Scottish Police College

SCQF Credit Rating Bodies may also offer a service to credit rate the learning provision of others. This is known as 'third party' credit rating. However, not all Credit Rating Bodies offer this service. For information on who provides this service contact the SCQF Executive Team on 0845 270 7371.
