Thinking about getting into learning

The Framework is there to help people of all ages and circumstances understand the wide range of courses and training that is available to help you make decisions about what's best for you at different times in your life.

Learning new skills can help you get back into work or get a better job. Learning more about the things that interest you can help you get more out of life.

The Framework helps you to:

  • decide what form of education and training is best for you at different times of your life. That could mean full-time education, part-time education, learning in the work-place or learning in the community
  • find the best ways of moving through the different education and training sectors
  • make the best use of the opportunities for progression by facilitating the transfer of SCQF credit points

Gaining new skills and knowledge all through your life can improve your chances of:

  • getting a job
  • getting promotion in your job
  • moving from one job to another

Learning is for life. And the Framework gives you credit for lifelong learning.
