On a career development programme

Gaining new knowledge and skills gives you better opportunities for getting promotion at work or developing a new career. And when you get new academic and/or vocational qualifications, you earn SCQF credit points that may go towards further learning you may need to do.

  • learning that you can do in college or university, or at work, or in the community
  • learning that will earn you academic or vocational qualifications that will help you in your career and in your everyday life

For example, SCQF credit points gained from achieving an HNC in Business Administration may be credited towards an HND in Business Administration. You could also gain credits from those programmes of learning to be able to go directly into the second or third year of an Ordinary Degree course in Business Administration

In the future, qualifications you gain in the workplace may also have credit points attached to them, which may be used for appropriate and related career development.
