SCQF Forum

Aims of the SCQF

The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework was established to:

  • enable people of all ages and circumstances to access appropriate education and training over their lifetime to fulfill their personal, social, and economic potential; and
  • enable employers and the public in general to understand how various qualifications can contribute to improving the skills of the workforce.

About the Framework

The Framework, and the locating of qualifications and assessed learning on the Framework, is helping to make clearer the range of and relationships between qualifications and learning opportunities in Scotland.

To help us support the Framework, we have set up the SCQF Forum. The Forum is made up of senior representatives from the fields of education, business and communities in Scotland. The SCQF Forum gives us advice to make sure the Framework continues to meet the needs of all learners, employers and other users of Scottish qualifications, both within Scotland and in Europe and the rest of the world.
